E-TEAMS

E-TEAMS (Encouraged to serve like Jesus)

E-TEAMS are designed to provide ways for the students to serve like Jesus. When the students are able to serve, they will be encouraged to take the focus off of themselves and direct it towards others. Students will have the opportunity to serve during Elevate (youth group), community outreach projects, events, church, and etc.

You can sign up during any youth group or leave a comment on this website to let me know where you want to serve. When you sign up you are committing to serving a month at a time. You will be responsible to find a sub/replacement if you are unable to show up.

Below you can read a description about the different E-TEAMS that we have and see where you want to serve:

  • Meet and Greet: (during Elevate) You will meet and greet the students as they arrive on Wednesday nights during Elevate. You will keep your eye out for the new student(s) and make them feel welcome.  You will show them around, answer any questions, talk to them, and etc. You will also be expected to have the new students fill out the “Student Info” card and turn it in. Pastor Brian will do the follow up.
  • Praise Band: (during Elevate) You will help lead in praise and worship on Wednesday nights during Elevate.
  • The 411: (during Elevate) You will help give the announcements and be in charge of sign-ups during Wednesday nights at Elevate. You will meet with Pastor Brian the day before Elevate or after school the day of Elevate.
  • MIA: (during Elevate) You will be responsible to contact those teens who have been MIA from the youth group for several weeks. I prefer this to be done by a phone call.
  • Outreach: (TBD)This will be open to all teens and leaders and will consist of a variety of things that deal with reaching out to the community.
  1. I am wanting to get information about your youth group. I have two children ages: 13, 11 who participated in the E-Team at Fairhaven Church. Currently, the middle school program at Fairhaven is not the fit for my kids who want to be involved in opportunities to serve, not entertained by music and party atmospheres. My daughter has a love for dance expression to Christian songs and my sons loves memorizing scripture, playing his guitar and puppet ministries. We are currently tapping into whatever ministries we can in the area. My kids are homeschooled and both of them are not interested in the traditional entertainment models many churches have for kids. Yet, they want to be involved. We were interested in just getting information about your program.

Good evening Debbie. Thank you so much for the comment and your interest in our youth program. I would love to tell you more about our youth program. If you have the time you can browse the website to learn a little more or call me at the church at 937-845-9866 and I will do my best to answer any questions that you might have. I love how you said that your kids are looking to be involved. That’s exciting to hear. Our E-Teams give our students the opportunity to serve rather than just attending youth group. As of right now we have the following E-Teams:

I am always looking and open for more and different E-Teams to get more students involved. You mentioned that your daughter loves to dance expression. If she were to come to our youth group and it was something that she wanted to do then we would allow her and even try to get more teens to join her. It sounds like your son has a heart for the ministry as well. We could get him plugged into the Praise Band, do scripture reading and would love to start a puppet team because we have the puppets. We will be doing a competition each year that would allow your kids to compete against others in the area in all the different interests and skills they have. Then if they do well they can earn scholarship money to certain Christian Colleges. It is called Teens Involved and it is put on by Word of Life. It is an awesome program that allows the teens to use their God given talents .
I also want to touch on the part you said about the “party atmosphere”. We are not a “party atmosphere”. We strive to be a student ministry community where students are exposed to Jesus, equipped to follow Jesus, and encouraged to serve like Jesus. They are able to serve like Jesus while being exposed to Jesus and equipped to follow him. Do we like to have fun? Yes!!! However the most important part is teaching these students how to follow Jesus and serve others as He would.
For your info we have Elevate tomorrow night (youth group) that starts at 6:30pm. I would love to meet you and your family if you would like to come out. We will be having a dinner at 6:30pm that is free and it is provided by a member of the church. Its always a good meal. Then afterwards we will be setting up for our Easter Breakfast that we offer to the community and church for free on Easter Sunday. After setting up we will have another chance to serve by filling a couple thousand easter eggs for our easter egg hunt on Saturday. Hope to see you tomorrow or feel free to try us out on Sunday. I will also say a pray for you and the kids as you search for a place for them to get involved. Please contact me if you have any questions.
